The three types of boilers are

Combi boilers give hot water on demand and a pressurised central heating, and are ideal for 1 bathroom homes.

System boilers have pressurised central heating but run either a vented or unvented hot water cylinder and are more suited to properties with more than 1 bathroom.

Vented or regular boilers are the type that require cold water storage tanks in the loft and a hot water cylinder.
